Personality: Beth is extremely self-centered. She's bossy and dominereing, and can be a real bitch. She tends to push others around and constantly points out other peoples flaws, ignoring her own completely. She'll nit-pick at every little thing she doesn't like about something, then turn around and call herself perfect, though really she's far from it. Most would say she's 'high and mighty', and maybe that's true. But she's also extremely insecure.
Beth tends to be overly protective and flinches easily due to past experiences. She's always on guard, expecting someone to try to hurt her. Beth may seem tough, but in all honesty she's insecure, and fragile. More sensitive than most because of early losses. However, once you've earned her trust she can be one of the best friends you'll ever have.
Beth is extremely defensive of her friends and will fight for them without a second thought. No matter what the situation is. She's amazingly loyal toward her friends and will do crazy things to help them. She often acts without thinking of consequences, which can get her in alot of trouble, but her money almost always gets her out of it.
History: Elizabeth Marie Howard was born in Paris, France. She grew up in a near-perfect world. At least in her mind. She had plenty of money, horses, loving parents, and a big brother who stuck up for her through anything. Beth was on a horse before she could walk and could ride completely by herself by the time she was two. Her parents and their freinds always said she had a gift with horses, and Beth has held on to that her whole life.
Beth began competeing when she was five years old, on a pretty little Welsh Pony. The pony was the same age as her, but was very well-behaved and responcive. As Beth grew older she gradually got better and better, winning more and more ribbons and trophies. However, when she was seven all that changed. She and her parents were headed home from a show. The roads were snowy and it was starting to rain. Beth was fast asleep in the backseat, clutching a pretty blue ribbon and her head on a little trophy, both of which she'd won that same day only hours before. Her mother was driving, and her father kept looking out the window to look at the mirror, watching the trailer which held Beth's pony and her parents Thoroughbred gelding and Andalusian mare. They were going a bit faster than they probably should've been, but they'd been gone all weekend and Laura was eager to get home and check on the youngest Howard, little Elle, who was only a year old at the time. Another driver attempted to pass Beth's parents, unable to see the van headed toward them fromt he other direction. As the other truck started to pass infront of Beth's parents, the van hit it's back-end, spinning it toward the Howard's rig. Beth's mother died on inpact, and her father only moments after. The truck and trailer rolled three times down a small hill off the road. Amazingly, when rescuers arrived, Beth was still alive, though barely. Saddly, the pony and horses were baddly injured and the police decided to put them down, knowing they would never heal properly. They rushed Beth to the hospitle, just in time. She remained unconcious for the next two weeks. When Beth finally woke up, the doctors were extatic, though they weren't looking forward to the conversation to come.
"Where's daddy?" The seven-year-old asked the nurse as she gently brushed Beth's tangled hair. The nurse sighed and sat down, reaching for Beth's little hand. After a pause, she informed Beth that her daddy had been killed in the accident. Beth was oddly calm, simply nodding, though a single tear streamed from the corner of her eye.
"What happened to Mommy?" Was the next question. Once more, the nurse sighed, then informed the little girl of Laura's death also. Beth was once more calm, simply nodding. By now though, the tears were coming a bit more faster.
"Is Calitoso ok?" Beth finally asked, refuring to her pony. The nurse took a deep breath and shifted. She calmly asked Beth who Calitoso was, and listened as the young girl went into detail about the pony. The nurse looked at Beth's sad, but hopeful expression, and tears sprang to her own eyes.
"Elizabeth, your pony was hurt real bad. They couldn't help him..." Beth cut the nurse off right then, summoning all of her seven-year-old seriousness and looked at the nurse, meeting her gaze evenly. Three words fell from her mouth at that moment.
"I hate you."
Not long after that, Beth turned eight. She had moved to Kentucky with her brother two months earlier, and had hardly spoken since that day in the hospitle. Most of what she did say was mean and hateful, though she managed to stay close to her brother through everything. Though he hadn't been with Beth and their parents that night, Beth still hung on to him like a life-line. Beth threw herself into training her aunt and uncles horses, though she was much younger than anyone else on the farm. When she was eleven-years-old, she picked up the phone and placed a long-distance call to Paris. Her and her brother had left the farm in the care of close family friends, since they were too young at the time to take it over, and now Beth was ready to do what she knew she needed to. The next Spring, a weanling colt arrived from the Paris farm. He was tall compaired to most foals his age, obviously having inhereited his fathers height like Beth had hoped. He was a cross-bred, but Beth had ment him to be. He was a cross between the finest Andalusian mare in the Paris stables, and the best Friesian stallion. They had been Beth's parents favorite horses when they were still alive, and now this bundle of black fluff was all she had left of them. She named the colt Aquatic Acanto Danse and the two formed an odd bond, fitting eachother amlost perfectly.
Beth threw herself into training the colt, and now, She helps her older brother, James, with Rimrock Ranch. Following in Beth's parents' foot-steps. And planning on tearing the Equestrian world apart. They make their own rules and listen to no one.
